kPa Consulting Engineers

Gillian is a Senior Chartered Civil Engineer and is the Practice Manager and part Owner at kPa Consulting Engineers Ltd.

 

After graduating with a degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from The University of Sheffield in 1993 Gillian joined London Underground Limited as a graduate Permanent Way Engineer.  She gained Charted Civil Engineer status in 1998.  Gillian has worked as a Site Engineer for Balfour Beatty and a Geotechnical Engineer for Arup as well as a Resident Engineer on various civil engineering construction projects for London Underground Limited. 

 

Gillian specialised in railway engineering and stakeholder management and went on to join The Nichols Group in London in 2000 as a specialist Programme Manager and Senior Consultant.  Her Client’s included The Department for Transport, Network Rail and the Strategic Rail Authority. 

 

As a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers Gillian is currently serving on the ICE Disciplinary Board who adjudicate upon allegations of improper conduct against ICE members.  Gillian was a General Member of the ICE Council and Member of the ICE Policy Panel from 2008-2011.  She served on the Presidential Selection Panel in 2011. 

 

Gillian moved to Wales with her husband in 2007 and they have twin boys.
